Donald Trump's weird tweet typo error "covfefe" becomes a hot new word everybody is using!

If you went to bed early last night, then I’m going to need you to sit down. I’ve got something to tell you. The world you wake up to is very different to the one you left. It’s a world of confusion, of uncertainty. It’s a world where words are lost and alternative truths and fake news collide.

It is, in short, the world of covfefe.

A midnight tweet from the United States of America's President Donald Trump (@realDonaldTrump) had social media trying to find a meaning in the mysterious term "covfefe" Right around midnight on Wednesday, President Donald Trump sent a strange message to his 31 million Twitter followers. Without any clear context, the President's late night tweet read: "Despite the constant negative press covfefe."

#covfefe became a top trending item on twitter, netizens came up with all manner of applications for the newly minted word, which hasn't yet made it into the Merriam Webster Dictionary.

Dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster checked in with an eye-rolling tweet about people looking up "covfefe" on its website. Dozens of definitions have been submitted the Urban Dictionary website, which crowdsources meanings for slang terms.

After the trending tweet, Trump poked fun at the typo, tweeting around 6 a.m., "Who can figure out the true meaning of "covfefe" ??? Enjoy!"

The president returned to his normal Twitter routine later in the morning by slamming Democrats over the probe into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election.
