League of Legends Sued Mobile Legends: Bang Bang For Alleged Copyright Infringement!

MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) nowadays is very popular specially on mobile which you can carry the PC-like-games in your pocket. One of these MOBA games for mobile which is very popular in the Philippines is Mobile Legends. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a multiplayer online battle arena mobile game developed and published by Shanghai Moonton Technology. The game was released worldwide for Android on July 14, 2016 and later iOS on November 9, 2016.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a multiplayer online battle arena game deigned for mobile phones. The two opposing teams fight to reach and destroy the enemy's base while defending their own base for control of a path, the three "lanes" known as "top", "middle" and "bottom", which connects the bases.

In each team, there are five players who each control an avatar, known as a "hero", from their own device. Weaker computer-controlled characters, called "minions", spawn at team bases and follow the three lanes to the opposite team's base, fighting enemies and turrets.

This game is very well-known in the Philippines and other Asian country due to its favorable memory capacity (100MB+) and graphics which almost most of the budget smartphones can handle the game. Unlike the Vainglory; this MOBA game can only run for selected midrange smartphones and High-end/Flagship smartphones due to its epic graphics and heavy memory capacity (1GB+), Vainglory also dubbed as the "The Best Touch Screen MOBA Out There -MOBAFire", ("Remember that MOBA shown off at Apple's iPhone 6 Event? Well, it's really good." -IGN), the gameplay of the game can last 15-40 minutes sometimes up to 50 minutes, also many professional gamers are playing Vainglory.

Riot Games has filed a lawsuit against Shanghai Moonton Technology, a mobile game developer, for alleged copyright infringement of League of Legends, Riot’s intellectual property. The lawsuit that was filed Thursday in the CDCC (Central District Court of California), Riot said that Moonton obviously infringed the copyright for LOL (League of Legends) in the form of multiple mobile platform games pointing the three games: Magic Rush: Heroes, Mobile Legends: 5v5 MOBA, and Mobile Legends: Bang bang having “a vast array of elements that were directly and deliberately appropriated from LoL, including but not limited to LoL’s characters, artwork, map designs, and unit and monster designs.”

What can you say about this issue? Are you ML player how does it looks like for you? Is it really looks like LoL? If Montoon permanently remove the game, would you like to upgrade your device and play Vainglory? You can watch ML and VG trailer below.
